Automation Across the B2B Customer Lifecycle
How a global B2B and B2C technology platform improved throughput and scalability with lifecycle automation and a new CRM, growing B2B customers 18% in nine months without proportional headcount growth. This result reflects Zachary Leifer's prior executive role, not a State of Mind Strategies client engagement.
The challenge
The platform needed to improve throughput and scalability without growing headcount at the same rate. Manual processes across customer onboarding, support, and lifecycle management were creating friction and limiting capacity.
The approach
Zachary deployed automation across the B2B customer lifecycle, implemented a CRM platform to support sales and customer success, and redesigned the operating model around digital-first workflows. Rather than bolting tools onto existing processes, the work restructured how the work flowed: removing low-value manual steps and freeing the team to focus on higher-value customer relationships. That is what allowed the business to grow without growing cost at the same rate.
What was done
- Lifecycle automation across onboarding, support, and customer management
- CRM implementation for sales and customer success
- Digital-first workflow redesign
- Operating model and capacity redesign
The outcomes
The principle behind it
Technology creates leverage when the operating model changes with it. Tools bolted onto old workflows add cost. Workflows redesigned around the tools add capacity.
